BRICS Cooperation: Banks call for boosting post-pandemic economic recovery, and promoting sustainable high-quality development

This year's annual meeting of the BRICS Interbank Cooperation Mechanism has been held in Beijing.

This year's meeting looked at how development financing could help BRICS countries in the post-pandemic era. Representatives of banks from China, Brazil, Russia, India and South Africa, as well as the New Development Bank, attended the meeting. The president of China Development Bank, Ouyang Weimin, called for cooperation that could bring about stronger, greener and healthier economic development within the BRICS mechanism. Another CDB representative highlighted ways the banks could further their cooperation.

Second, we should continue to strengthen cooperation in infrastructure. A third way is by promoting the digital transformation of industries in various countries. And finally, we need to cooperate in green finance and climate financing, and also, at the same time, strengthen the cooperation mechanism."
