ZHOU Xuedong

Executive Vice President

Mr. ZHOU Xuedong is Member of CPC Committee and Executive Vice President of China Development Bank.

Prior to taking the current position in August 2020, Mr. Zhou worked with the People’s Bank of China (PBC) starting from December 2008, when he was appointed as Deputy Director General (Director-General Level) of PBC Financial Stability Bureau. Since 2009, he had served successively as Director General of PBC Legal Affairs Department; Head, Deputy Party Secretary and then Party Secretary of PBC Nanjing Branch, and concurrently Head of Jiangsu Branch of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE); Director General and Party Secretary of PBC Operations Office, and concurrently Head of the Beijing Administrative Office of SAFE; Director General of PBC Financial Stability Bureau; and Director General of PBC General Administration Department.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Zhou worked with the Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources (the current Ministry of Land and Resources), and the General Office of the State Council.

Born in February 1967, Mr. Zhou graduated in July 1990 with a bachelor’s degree of engineering from China University of Geosciences (Wuhan). He also holds a doctorate degree in economics from the Economics and Management School of Wuhan University.
