Head Office employees paid "special party membership dues" of RMB 1.879 million and raised RMB 1.673 million in the second donation campaign
The campaign of "Unity is strength - another donation campaign of the employees of the Head Office of China Development Bank for the people in the quake zones" was held in Beijing today, where 1,082 party members voluntarily paid "special party membership dues" of RMB 1.879 million, RMB 1,737 per capita for the disaster relief; meanwhile, the entire on-the-job and retired employees of the Head Office raised over RMB 1.673 million for the earthquake stricken areas.
On May 20, the Communist Party Committee of China Development Bank held a meeting to forward the Notice on Promoting the Payment of "Special Party Membership Dues" of Some of the Party Members for the Disaster Relief released by the organization Ministry of CPC Central Committee, encouraging and supporting the Party members throughout the Bank to express their intention of supporting the earthquake stricken areas by paying the "special party membership dues". On May 21, Mr. Chen Yuan, Secretary of the Communist Party Committee and President of China Development Bank and the current and former bank leaders volunteered to pay the "special party membership dues" and make another donation for the disaster areas. Retired employees and newly recruited employees, employees in Beijing and those abroad or working in other places, pregnant "would-be mothers" and foreign employees as well as outsourced employees, each "CDB person" showed great zeal in paying the "special party membership dues" and making donations. Within half a day, the "special party membership dues" paid by the Party members of the Head Office and the second donation totaled over RMB 3.55 million. With the first employee donation of over RMB 660,000, the Head Office employees (including retired employees) have contributed RMB 4.21 million to the quake zones on an accumulative basis with per capita donation of RMB 2,469.
The branches of China Development Bank have initiated the second round of donation campaign for the earthquake stricken areas. The employees unanimously expressed the idea that "with joined hands, love has no boundary; under the strong leadership of the Central Communist Party Committee and with the significant support of the people, the great Chinese nation will win a total victory in fighting the disaster".
China Development Bank had donated RMB 16.67 million worth of money and materials to the earthquake stricken areas and granted emergency loans of RMB 486 million to Gansu, Sichuan, Shaanxi and Yunnan, etc. for the most needed road construction and purchase of disaster relief materials. |
