On the morning of November 28, China Development Bank Gansu Branch granted its initial hometown-oriented student credit loan totaling RMB 125.69 million to our province. These funds cover 86 counties and districts in 14 cities and prefectures across our province and will be remitted through the settlement accounts opened with local rural credit cooperatives by county or district student loan management centers to the exclusive tuition-paying accounts of colleges or universities where 26,264 poverty-stricken students from our province are studying.
Gansu Province is one of the five pilot provinces determined by the Chinese government to implement hometown-oriented student loan program. Upon receipt of admission notice from college or university, student may apply to local educational authority for student credit loan with an annual cap of RMB 6,000 per capita. (Yang Shizhi) |
